Adam Johnson Outdoors Television

Adam Johnson Outdoors television is not your typical "nice fish?" show. Make no mistake, we catch big fish and might even kiss a bass before dropping her back, but that's not why you'll keep tuning in week after week. Instead, Adam Johnson Outdoors television focuses on the "why." Why do fish and game do what they do? Why do we care about the angle of the sun? The forage base? The ground cover, or the behavior patterns? Why do we focus on the why? Because it gets results in the field!

Sure, we'll show you the techniques that work; how to use the latest tackle, how to set a string of decoys, and how to make a trolling run right along the lip of the structure. But, more importantly, we'll tell you why. Why do pig walleyes move up in the fall chasing the same ciscoes that were suspending over the main lake basin only days before? Why do big pike settle just above the thermocline in the heat of summer? Why do ruffed grouse bunch together about the time you're thinking about bagging your next buck? And we'll give you the why while you're watching fast paced, entertaining TV.

That's why we focus on the "why." We want you to be more productive in the field, more successful on the water, and more captivating around the water cooler on Monday morning. If Adam Johnson Outdoors television is not available in your area, you can watch episodes online, or call your local cable operator to see when it will be available. Why not tune in?

Tournament mortality - A hot topic
For years tournaments touted their superior catch and release abilities, but unfortunately the trailers were packed and the event organizers were long gone when fish began floating to the surface, victims of delayed mortality. The local lake users took notice, though, as well as the state Department of Natural Resources. It wasn't long before tournaments were scrambling to get a handle on what was going wrong.
When bass are down deep
There's a lake I've been fishing since I was just a small boy that has some interesting structure to it. The mid-lake humps only rise from the bottom a few feet. The tops are in about 26 feet and the bottom edges are in about 33 feet. These are deep sunken islands and they hold lots of nice bass.
Locking down the pattern
We often read about how important it is to vary a presentation to see if it can be improved upon. Slight color modifications might trigger more bites or changing to a different plastic body might solicit more strikes. But when do we lock down the pattern and just fish? Is there a point where too much tinkering can actually hinder the bite and cost you fish?
River bass fishing
Too often here in the Upper Midwest, people dismiss rivers for bass fishing. But seasoned bass anglers know that our rivers contain, pound for pound, some of the strongest largemouth bass in the country.
